How to get to the Oslo Opera House & Munch Museum by metro
Station, line, walking time and exit — the complete guide.
Get off at Jernbanetorget station (Line 1 & Line 2 & Line 3 & Line 4). From there it is a ~5-minute walk to the Opera House, the Munch Museum and Bjørvika.
The Munch Museum is about a 10-minute walk further east along the waterfront.

Overview
The Opera House in Bjørvika is Oslo’s most iconic modern building — a white marble and glass structure by Snøhetta whose sloping roof you can walk right up for views over the fjord. Next to it stand the new Munch Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of Edvard Munch’s work, and the Deichman Bjørvika library.
The nearest metro station is Jernbanetorget, above Oslo Central Station. From there it is a short, flat walk along the Bjørvika waterfront to the whole cultural quarter — easy to reach on all five metro lines.
From the Opera roof you can see the whole of Bjørvika, Hovedøya island and the islets of the fjord. It is worth stopping at the Deichman library too, or walking on along the harbour promenade to the Sørenga sea baths.

Take Line 1 and get off at Jernbanetorget station.
